ABOUT USA Quartet from Central NJFriends since pre-school, we played together in our school orchestras and in the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey. In March 2019 we formed our quartet and began practicing regularly. We have a lot of fun making music together and look forward to our meetings.
2022 was an amazing breakout year for us. We entered a number of competitions and were awarded 1st or 2nd place in almost all of them. The highlight has been the Young Musicians Concert organized by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. We were honored to be selected to play in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, as one of ten ensembles from around the Tri-State area. We also had the opportunity to play in Carnegie Hall as Grand Prix winners of the Music-Fest Rising Talents Competition and in the DiMenna Center as 2nd place ensemble winners of the Camerata Artists International Music Competition. |

OUR JOURNEYExplorationsWe began by playing a number of Mozart quartets and learned a lot about his styles of phrasing, including his dynamic contrast and articulation changes.
We have since played Haydn, Dvorak, Mendelssohn and Beethoven quartets. In February 2020, we had an amazing opportunity to play Beethoven's String Quartet Op 18, No. 6 on stage with the Calidore String Quartet. And in 2022, as part of the Young Musicians Concert, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center arranged private coaching sessions for us with the Calidore String Quartet's talented musicians. We also learned to play a few pop pieces arranged for the Vitamin String Quartet. Each of these helped us develop better coordination and listening skills. |
